The U.S. Post Office in the tiny town of Gill Colorado was burglarized earlier this week. The crime was discovered just after 6:00 am on Wednesday, April 17th when someone, who was dropping off mail, noticed that a wooden door separating the lobby from the office area of the building appeared to have been kicked open.

What Was Taken?

property loss from the burglary was limited to a small amount of mail, some keys, and other small office supply items.

This investigation is ongoing by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with U.S. Postal Inspectors. Patrons of the Gill Post Office are encouraged to take appropriate preventative measures if they believe any of their personal information may have been compromised by reporting the incident to the appropriate credit reporting agency.
