Do Not Sleep On These Northern Colorado Gas Station Snacks

My 8-year-old daughter loves gas station sushi. I should be a better mother and school her on the dangers of gas station cuisine. Or maybe I need to loosen up, stop worrying, and start enjoying my life.

Gas station food can be daunting and sometimes sketchy, but here are some surprisingly delicious options for food in Northern Colorado if you're feeling adventurous.

Savory Options

We've already covered gas station seafood. If you're looking for something on the salty side, you should definitely try one of the gas station basics. I'm talking about hot dogs on a roller, nachos, maybe a slice of pizza. The classics.

If you have an iron stomach, you can also try the 7-11 buffalo chicken rollers, spicy sausage bites, or one of their many burrito options. YOLO. If it's a hot meal you're looking for, gas stations have some pretty solid options.

Colorado green chile is one of a kind, and many gas stations in our area sell it to take home and enjoy. Local beef jerky is also sold at most Northern Colorado gas stations. And finally, Maverik locations in Colorado sell snacks from local Colorado bakeries.
