I have always been a fan of trying out new restaurants in Northern Colorado. More often than not, I can find a unique dish that I can rave about. Sometimes, there is quite a buzz surrounding a restaurant and it takes me a while to eventually get into the place, but I try my best to get in when a restaurant is still new.

There has been a slew of closures that have hit the Fort Collins food scene in recent months and unfortunately, there has been another announcement of a closure in Old Town Fort Collins.

This Old Town Fort Collins restaurant had only been around for about a year before it announced it would be closing on Instagram. Avery Eatery announced on Monday that the restaurant will be closing.

Avery Eatery's post says that restaurants have been notoriously difficult to squeeze a buck out of and as of late, they have become crazy expensive to run. Citing the cost of rising food prices, insurance premiums, payroll taxes, utilities, and pretty much every expense you can imagine makes it hard to break even.

Avery Eatery also said in the announcement that the staff is the biggest concern about the closure of the restaurant in Fort Collins. Avery Eatery, located at 100 North College Avenue, will remain open through Sunday, January 25. Sales of meals will go directly to the wages of the staff at Avery Eatery for the remainder of the time that the restaurant will be open.
