Old Town Fort Collins Could Add More Parking, Some Residents Aren’t Thrilled
I love living in Fort Collins. One thing I do not love about Choice City is the limited parking. Parking is relatively easy throughout most of the city. However, parking in Old Town Fort Collins can be a nightmare sometimes.
Sometimes parking in Old Town Fort Collins is a breeze. Other times, residents are left circling for long durations to park their cars.
One time it took me 30 minutes to find an available spot when my girlfriend and I were going to dinner at Austin's American Grill. There is a plan in motion to add more parking spaces to Old Town Fort Collins possibly.
More Parking in Fort Collins
Mulberry Wine and Spirits has proposed removing a portion of the sidewalk at 460 S College Ave to add more parking.
11 diagonal spaces would be added along the front of Mulberry Wine and Spirits. The sidewalk would still exist, but it would be more narrow.

Mulberry Wine and Spirits sent the approval and it has not been confirmed or approved by the city of Fort Collins yet.
Some Fort Collins Are Skeptical
Fort Collins Reddit users voiced their concerns on the platform. They pointed out that the proposed parking is next to Target which has lower-level parking. Residents pointed out that this lower-level parking garage is not often used.
Additionally, these residents believe that adding these spaces would make the nearby intersection dangerous. The new parking spaces could potentially create a traffic congestion situation.
