Once retiring from careers in professional sports, many athletes choose to venture into new business endeavors. From car dealerships and clothing lines to cannabis companies, broadcast careers, and voice overs in video games, retired athletes have their hands in all sorts of unsportsmanlike industries.

Since exiting the NFL 21 years ago, former Denver Bronco Ed McCaffrey has now traded in his cleats for condiments, launching his own brand of mustard and horseradish sauce. And recently, three-time Super Bowl-winning wide receiver, expanded his McCaffrey Brands food line by debuting a new set of snacks alongside the tasty sauces.

McCaffrey Protein Bites are a healthy, on-the-go snack. According to the company, the products are sustainably made, gluten-free, plant-based, and non-GMO. Currently, the protein-packed bites come in three flavors: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Birthday Cake, and Fudge Brownie.

Since launching in February 2025, McCaffrey Protein Bites, are now available at Kings Soopers, DICK’s Sporting Goods and Scheels locations nationwide, as well as online. They're packed in four-ounce, re-sealable standup pouches that are convenient for transport.

McCaffrey played in the NFL from 1991 to 2003, spending his last nine seasons wearing No. 87 for the Denver Broncos. With roots in Colorado, he continued his career coaching football at Valor Christian High School and at the University of Northern Colorado. He currently lives with his family in Denver.

Drawing from years of preparing nutritious meals for their athletic family, the McCaffrey's were inspired to bring quality food and nutrition to people across America through their own products.
