Former Berthoud Cop Charged With Sexually Abusing A Child
A former Berthoud police officer who was fired for physically abusing a 15-year-old girl is now charged with sexually abusing a child.
Charges were filed against Jeremy Yachik on September 2 for crimes that allegedly happened on August 1, 2010. He was arrested September 9.
Yachik faces 2 felony counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person in a position of trust.
Yachik is currently on probation. In 2014 he pleaded guilty to child abuse after a video surfaced that appears to show him kicking and hitting his daughter. The cover-up of the case led to the Berthoud Police Department being dissolved. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
