According to a press release from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, on Monday the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) donated infant supplies worth $3 million to the state of Colorado.

Items provided by the generous donation include:

  • 8,200 cases of formula
  • 23,260 packages of diapers
  • 53,167 packages of diaper wipes

These essentials, which are often either out of stock in regular retail locations or beyond the economic reach of those who have recently been laid off of work, will be delivered to a variety of food banks and family resources centers by the Feeding Task Force, which was founded on March 9 in response to shortages caused by COVID-19.

We are proud to be leading the Statewide Feeding Task Force and are encouraged by the statewide coordination with partners to identify needs and collaborate to meet them.”

Colorado Department of Human Services Executive Director Michelle Barnes.

Essential supplies were assigned to 41 different locations in Colorado, and will be eligible for those enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), as well as childcare providers who are taking part in the Emergency Child Care Collaborative.

If you need access to these critical items, go to the Colorado Office of Early Childhood’s website, where you can find a detailed list of distribution locations nearest to you.
