Colorado has served as the backdrop for various movies and TV shows over the years.  Certain Colorado landmarks are familiar and easy to recognize in some scenes, while in other productions, these places are more obscure and hidden in the background.

If you've ever seen the 1992 classic A League of Their Own, you may have noticed the brief 'Fort Collins' cameo that appears in a scene near the film's beginning. This is because the script included a switch-hitting slugger named Marla Hooch, played by Megan Cavanagh, who in the movie, hailed from Fort Collins.

In the early 1990s, movie producers used the Glenn Morris Field House on CSU's campus in Fort Collins to film the scene for the movie. At that time, the building at 901 S. College Avenue was called the South College Field House; it was renamed after CSU athlete Glenn Morris in 2011.

During Hooch's tryout in the movie, 'Ft. Collins Prospectors' can be seen on the gym's back wall in big, bold letters.

Although Fort Collins was used as the backdrop for one scene in the movie, IMDB notes that most of A League of Their Own was shot and produced in Indiana and Los Angeles.

Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Madonna, and Rosie O'Donnell also played leading roles in the timeless, feel-good flick.
