According to Denver 7, Air Care Colorado emissions testing will be increasing its testing price for the second time in the program's history. The price increase from $25 to $35 is the first price increase in two decades.

Why is the Price Is Increasing for Emissions Testing in Colorado?

The price increase for Air Care Colorado is to generate more revenue to hire additional staff, help retain current employees, and reduce high wait times at numerous high-volume testing sites in Colorado.

The price increases for emissions tests will also help facilitate emissions testing technology at these testing stations, while adding more Rapidscreen roadside testing units throughout the state of Colorado.

Emissions testing price increases at Air Care Colorado will start on March 1, 2026.
