Chris Gauman is just trying to make an honest living for his family. After being approved for a new store in Greeley, it all may now be up in smoke, or vapor as the case may be.

Greeley bans about everything, and may even ban the vapor trade.

I had no idea there was a new ban on E-Cig's but it sounds like it may be coming. Chris Gauman started his first vapor business in Loveland and decided to expand into Greeley but after getting written approval for his store at 808 E 8th, and starting an extensive remodel, they are now saying he may have to close, before they even open.

The council had one last meeting and gave Chris notice 4 hours worth of notice, but the Heath Department wasn't notified any earlier either, to be fair.

The final hearing on the ban is coming up on January 6.  Maybe the the concern should be if vapor is actually harmful first? Second hand vapor? Still way to early for most studies.

I just don't think it's right for someone to be told yes to a business, sign a long-term lease and then tell him he may have to shut his doors. The whole idea behind his business is that they have a lounge for customers to try their product. A vapor ban would pretty much shut him down and the whole idea behind this story was that he was told he could do the vape lounge.

My entire business is based in the testing bar indoors. Thats the attraction. Brick and mortar stores can not beat online pricing. We would slowly die. Three stores in Arvada went out of business because of the same ban. The point is that they told me I could have the indoor vapor lounge and the ban says I cant - Chris Gauman

If you'd like to offer your opinion, or for or against the ban, please make plans to attend the City Council meeting on January 6 in Greeley.
