There is no ideal time to get sick, but when the weather starts getting nicer is when most want to get outside on the weekends and go camping, fishing, hiking, and enjoy what the spring has to offer in Northern Colorado. There are many different illnesses to try to avoid this spring, but sometimes the simplest ones can be the worst. There is a nasty head cold that is currently going around that nobody wants to get. In the beginning, it may seem like simple allergies or perhaps you may think it is a sinus infection, which could be cured in a few days with antibiotics, but sadly, it is neither one and is something that takes a toll on anyone who gets it.

There is a head cold right now that is highly contagious, going around, and lasts longer than the typical cold. It starts with a sore throat, and within a few days, it works its way up through your sinuses, causing pain in the nasal area and making it tough to breathe. A sore throat will likely ensue, and a headache will come along for the ride. Unfortunately, it won't only last a few days, but instead will last close to two weeks. Antibiotics will not help, as it isn't an infection. It will be one of those illnesses that will find you falling asleep, lacking an appetite, and begging for the misery to end.

If you find yourself with these symptoms, it will likely ruin your weekend. You could still get out, but you risk spreading it to others. If you have little ones, they may bring it home from school or daycare, or you could get it from coworkers, church, or while running errands. Good luck avoiding the illnesses flying around this spring and staying healthy.
