Colorado Pet Owners Alert: Thousands of Microchips Failing Nationwide
People in Colorado love their pets. Dogs, cats, and critters are just as much a part of the family as anybody else. Colorado is actually home to some of the most dog-friendly cities across the entire nation.
We love our pets and we always want to ensure that they are safe. A safety net for many pet owners is microchips.
Microchips help reunite missing pets with their owners.
According to data from Northfork Animal Hospital, microchipped dogs are returned to their owners over half of the time while 21 percent of dogs are reunited with their owners when they are not microchipped.
Microchip Failure in Colorado
CBS reports that a microchip company known as "Save This Life" has abruptly shut down its operation.
The company responsible for the microchips has provided the service for many animals across the state of Colorado.

We recommend that you check your microchip information on your pet as soon as possible. If your pet is lost, there is no longer any way to track them down if you use the service "Save This Life".
