
Your Dog Could Star in a Colorado Play This Summer
Do you think your little pup could be a star? Well, one Colorado festival is looking for your dog to star in a play this summer. The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is actively on the search for two dogs to play a role in the production of Shakespeare In Love, based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall.
Casting Call for a Small Dog Star in Colorado
Get your pooch ready to make their acting debut, as auditions will take place on stage at the newly renovated Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre on Saturday, March 28, at 3 p.m.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is looking for two smaller dogs, ideally under 20 lbs., be able to sit and stay on command, or with treats, and also be able to jump up on an actor, to draw attention when needed.
Rehearsal Schedule for Shakespeare in Love
Rehearsals for Shakespeare in Love will take place June 2 through 27, generally Tuesdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. However, dogs will not be needed every day, and the dogs that are cast will only be called for rehearsals when working on the scenes where dogs are needed.
If your dog is chosen, they will be acting in 10 performances of Shakespeare In Love, with a start time of 7:30 p.m. on these dates:
- June 27 and 28
- July 5, 10, 15, 19, 23, 25, and 30
- August 1
