The marmot was apprehended and got a full health check by the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance Animal Care, Veterinary Medicine, and Field Conservation teams.
After the marmot got a clean bill of health, it was able to stay in a luxurious suite inside of the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance. The next day, a staff member took him back to the exact spot where he was picked up near Minturn, Colorado. When released back to his home, he took off to a rock pile nearby and called out as he went back home.
