Denver Water Department Creates Hilarious and Informative Backstreet Boys Parody

With summer around the corner in Colorado, utility companies are informing us of the best and most efficient ways to water our lawns.

We typically get tips delivered to us in the mail or by e-mail. many of us follow the tips, but, likely, the majority of us in Colorado do not.

Denver Water created a funny and unique campaign to inform and entertain Coloradans when it comes to water use during the summer months.

Backstreet Is Back... In Colorado?

A team at Denver Water created a parody of the famous Backstreet Boys song "I Want It That Way". We all know the song.

Denver Water's parody is called "I Water That Way". The song talks about common watering mistakes we make in Colorado such as misplaced sprinklers, not watering during windy and rainy days.

Denver Water employees transform themselves into the group Splashstreet Boys. It is hilarious.

The video also touches on the concept of ColoradoScape. ColoradoScape's mission is to have native Colorado plants in your yard that are drought-resistant.

About the Parody Song

Denver Water says that you should after during cooler times of the day. They also recommend watering two days per week.

Did you know that Denver Water has actual rules? From May 1 to October 1 you can not water during peak daylight hours.

I live in Fort Collins and am unfamiliar with the rules. At my home, the sprinklers are set to go off at 4:00 a.m. three mornings a week.
