Not every city and state is affected the same when it comes to inflation, and others have it worse than most. According to WalletHub, one Colorado city ranked the absolute worst when it comes to inflation changes.

Denver’s Popularity Comes with a Price

For many, Denver is a destination city to either visit or move to. With its proximity to the mountains, ample dining options, and endless entertainment avenues, one could say Denver is the perfect city for someone who wants to live in a major metropolotian area and yet still have quick access to the Rocky Mountains.

Out of 23 major cities that were monitored for inflation issues, Denver ranked the worst. Not one of the worst, but taking home the number one spot. There are two factors that WalletHub took into consideration for this study. Consumer Price Index Change for the latest month versus two months prior, and Consumer Price Index Change for the latest month versus one year ago.

While Denver did not show up on the list for the highest consumer price index change for the latest month versus one year ago, the Mile High City did come in as the highest when it came to the consumer price index change for the latest month versus two months before.

How Denver Compares to Other Cities

With an overall total score of 87.50 for the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metro area, the consumer price index change for the year-over-year was 3.10 percent, and the change for the previous two months was one percent.
