Colorado’s Best Dive Bar Has Been Around Since the 1940s
People either love or hate dive bars in Colorado. I am one of those people who love them.
Here is why I believe that dive bars are superior to all bars.
- Dive bars are cheap
- The vibe is relaxed and low-key.
- The bars have character.
There are awesome dive bars across Colorado, but one dive bar in Denver was ranked the best in the state.
Colorado's Best Dive Bar Revealed
Don's Club Tavern in Denver was ranked the best dive bar in Colorado by Media Feed. Don's has been around since 1947. Don's has extremely reasonably priced drinks if you are on a budget.
Apparently, Jack Kerouac used to hang out at Don's Club Tavern. He most likely worked on ideas for his novels while drinking a beer or two.
This is what Media Feed had to say about Don's Club Tavern.
It says it right on their website: Don’s is “Denver’s Best Dive Bar.” It’s been around since 1947 and hasn’t changed all that much (not that we were there back then). So, if you’re in the mile-high city and need a cold one, stop by the place where they say it’s a “virtual certainty” that Jack Kerouac stopped by back in the day and threw back one or a few.
If You're a Broncos Fan You Might Want to Watch the Game Somewhere Else
Believe it or not, Don's is a Chiefs bar. I boo'ed my computer as I am writing this. Don's will be packed with Chiefs fans during their games, so make sure to check out their schedule to dodge annoying fans.
And possibly Taylor Swift fans.
This Is What Coloradans Say
Looking at Yelp, there are a ton of positive reviews for Don's Club Tavern. Of course, there are some negative reviews as well. Customers enjoy playing skeeball, pool, and arcade games. Visitors rave about the cost of drinks.
Plus Don's says they have a jukebox that has nearly every song you could imagine.
