Denver Airport Ranks 28th in U.S. for On-Time Departures

I am proud to say I am one of those people who will arrive at the airport a few hours before boarding, just to make sure the gate is where it should be. This gives me plenty of time to be able to decompress from parking my vehicle, going through the security line, and hopping on the train to the terminal.

Denver Airport Delays Frustrate Frequent Flyers

While I may only fly a few times a year in and out of Denver International Airport, only a small handful of occasions have left me delayed. However, it appears that this is not always the case for some frequent travelers.

According to the Bureau of Transportation's list of airports' on-time departure percentages across the United States, Denver's Airport doesn't rank so well. The data used in the list was compiled for 2025 during the entire month of June.

Only Two Airports Ranked Lower Than DIA

Out of the 30 airports ranked in the United States, Denver International Airport was 28th on the list with a 73.37 percent on-time percentage. Washington, DC, and Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, were the only two airports ranked lower than Denver.

My only gripe about this list is that they just had to pick the month of June. You know, it's one of the worst months for severe weather in the state of Colorado. I would rather be delayed for a while than have to deal with severe turbulence, or worse, when leaving the airport and starting my trip off on a bumpy note.
