CPW Urges Reservoir Swimmers to Be Careful After 5 Recent Deaths
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is urging the public to stay safe after five people lost their lives last weekend in Colorado's various reservoirs.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 18, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said that none of those who passed away were wearing personal flotation devices, which could have ended up saving their lives.
Not only that, but even a paddleboard can be dangerous. According to the post,
Reservoir water is cold—even in this heat—and stand-up paddle boards are especially vulnerable to being blown over by wind. PLEASE wear a PFD on the water and do a kindness for your friends and family by making sure they wear one as well.
If you're heading out on the water this weekend, be sure to wear a life jacket, or personal flotation device, to keep you and your loved ones safe.
