Coroner Releases Identity Of Man Who Died At Lake Estes Last Week
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man who's body was recovered days after falling off a boat and into Lake Estes last Thursday (June 10).
The coroner has identified the deceased as 25-year-old Quentin S. Mbongue of Westminster, Maryland.
Mbongue's body was located and recovered over the weekend, according to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, which thanked all the different agencies that participated in the search; agencies including Colorado Parks and Wildlife located 25-year-old's body at 11:26 a.m. last Saturday (June 12). The team worked until 2:56 p.m. that afternoon to recover the body from the water.
Mbongue body was one of two body recovered over the weekend, as another body was found by a boater and recovered the same day in Carter Lake. The identity of the other man has yet to be released. A press release from the Larimer County's Sheriff’s Office said investigators were working to confirm the identify of the man on Saturday but that his death was being investigated as an unattended death.
According to a release from the coroner, the cause of death was ruled as asphyxia by drowning due to cold water immersion; the manner of death was ruled an accident.
