You've Got to Love This Time of Year in Colorado
Summer in Colorado means music. Lots and lots of music. The iconic Red Rocks venue hosts over 100 concerts annually. In 2024, Red Rocks Amphitheatre hosted 198 concerts during the season, featuring a diverse range of music genres.
This doesn't even begin to account for other venues such as Empower Field at Mile High, The Fillmore Auditorium, and the Mission Ballroom in the Denver Metro Area. From country to rap and rock to EDM, one thing is certain: Coloradans love to see live music.
Garth Brooks Sets a Massive Attendance Record in Denver
In the past 10 years, I have been to my fair share of concerts in Colorado. However, some of them stand out more than others. When Garth Brooks performed at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, I was in shock at how many people were there.

Garth's concert on June 8, 2019, brought in a massive crowd of 84,000 fans, breaking a record for the largest ticketed event at Mile High Stadium and exceeding the previous record set by U2 with 77,000 attendees.

Garth Brooks held on to the title of having the largest concert at Mile High Stadium for a few years, then the record was once again broken.
On August 19, 2023, the record for most attendees at Empower Field at Mile High was set once more. This time by pop artist Ed Sheeran. His concert brought in 1,233 more fans than Garth Brooks did in 2019.
Metallica’s M72 Tour Makes Colorado Concert History
In June 2025, another record was set at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium for multi-night performances. Metallica's M72 World Tour came to Denver, Colorado, for two nights, holding the record for the largest total attendance across two nights with approximately 152,000 fans.

We couldn't possibly break these records for concert attendees in Mile High Stadium again, could we? I guess we will have to wait and see who else will perform in the upcoming years that would bring in so many live music fans to what is easily the biggest venue in the state of Colorado.
