Pets Are More Than Just Guests in Colorado Weddings
According to KDVR, Colorado law states that numerous people can sign a marriage license as an officiant. Normally, these people are judges, authorized public officials, clergy members, or just a couple getting married.

Colorado is one of the few states that allows self-solemnization. What does it mean for those looking to get hitched in Colorado? Well, it means that your pet, whether that be a dog, cat, or hamster, can be listed as a witness on the marriage license.
Double Check With Your County Clerk
In some counties, like Jefferson County, pets can even sign the marriage license with a paw print, as long as all of the legal language on the marriage certificate is still clearly legible.

KDVR says that some county offices within Colorado could have different policies when it comes to pets signing off on your marriage, so it is probably best to check with your local county before letting Fido officiate your "I do's" on your big day.
