Thieves in Colorado May Be Using This Odd Method to Break Into Homes
The internet is full of great life hacks that make life easier. Unfortunately, the internet also gives out tips and tricks that increase crime in Colorado.
I began noticing this trend when my vehicle's value went south quickly. It was due to many people on TikTok discovering a quick way to bypass the anti-theft system on Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
Because of social media, many vehicles were stolen and a massive recall was put out.

Another life hack has been linked to crime and your Colorado home may be at risk.
New Theft Trick Pops Up on Social Media
Social media users in Colorado are concerned after multiple videos have shown that you can heat a glue stick and stick the wax into a lock.
I have heard of using glue to get a broken key out of a lock, but I was not aware that this could be a method for criminals to break into your home.
Is Your Colorado Home Safe?
As I mentioned before, this method is primarily used to get keys out of doors, however, some criminals are likely willing to put in extra work. The video above shows that creating a mold is possible.
There are many methods to create a spare key and unfortunately, the resources are easy to find.
For example, experts warn against posting pictures of your keys online, as artificial intelligence can now be used to replicate keys from photos.
I would say that your home is mostly safe. This is simply a reminder to keep an eye on your locks because you never know when the next theft trend is going to happen.
