A Colorado hiker is lucky to be alive after being stabbed numerous times on a trail Wednesday morning. According to KDVR, the victim was hiking on a trail in Boulder County when he was confronted by another man on the trail who stabbed the man multiple times before the suspect fled up the trail to the parking lot.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office received the call of the reported stabbing at 7:46 a.m. on Wednesday at Chapman Drive at the Tenderfoot Trail west of Boulder, Colorado.

Boulder County Sheriff's Office Searching for Stabbing Suspect

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office dispatched eight deputies to the area along with Boulder Open Space Rangers to the incident. An extensive search revealed that the suspect was no longer in the area.

The suspect has been described as a white male who is approximately six feet tall with grey hair and wearing shorts. The suspect also had a dog with him at the time of the stabbing. The dog has been described as some kind of small terrier with multi-colored and trimmed hair.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is asking for help from the public to identify and locate the suspect. Anyone who might have information on the incident or the suspect is being asked to call the Boulder County Sheriff's Office at 303-441-3674 or email bcsotips@bouldercounty.gov and reference case number 24-04671.

The victim sustained serious injury from the stabbing and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
