If you're a fan of the outdoors, you probably find yourself in a bit of an outdoor playground spending time in Colorado's wilderness. There are plenty of great hiking trails all over our great state, and you never know what you'll stumble upon.

Interestingly, while a self-proclaimed 'Urban Explorer' was on a hunt for something entirely different, he stumbled upon a really cool area full of rocks that resemble faces and a remarkable wall that looks exactly like a giant skull.

When you think of great places to take hikes, large Colorado cities like Denver and Colorado Springs are seldom the first that come to mind.

However, this particular hike is located just outside of a rather large residential area in Colorado Springs near Palmer Park and Templeton Gap:

If you look at the upper left side of Palmer Park you'll see a little gray circle and that is the marker for the location of this particular hike.

Colorado Hike with Faces and Skull Rocks

It's quite remarkable when you realize that this area is essentially in the backyard of numerous Colorado Springs residents, especially when you see it.

There are countless rock formations along and above the hike, some of which, yes, resemble faces.

It also appears that water was much more present in the area which likely would explain the various holes in the stones that take the form of eyes, noses, and mouth cavities.

Take a virtual tour of this super cool hike and check out the faces, skulls, and other rock formations:
