Looking closer at the data, Colorado has the 2nd highest rank for educational attainment.

This means that, on average, our population has a higher percentage of residents with higher education than others.

For example, Colorado has the second-highest percentage of residents that have a bachelor's degree. Colorado also happens to be the first in the nation for residents who have at least some college education under their belt.

One Surprings Factor: Colorado's Colleges

Colorado does have an amazing education system. However, we are extremely surprised about how low our state ranked when it came to university quality.

Despite having great K-12 schools, Colorado does not have high-quality universities. WalletHub says that Colorado has the second-to-last average university quality in the nation.

Colorado School of Mines is the only college in Colorado that broke the top 100 last year.
