While the Colorado Eagles are used to packing Loveland's Budweiser Events Center, they had to get creative this season to host fans during the pandemic.

The Eagles hosted a socially-distant watch party at the Holiday Twin Drive-In in Fort Collins on Saturday (March 6). All 430 tickets sold out for the event.

While the Colorado Eagles fell 4-1 to the Henderson Silver Knights in the matchup, the atmosphere did its best to simulate the rowdy and wonderful experience of live hockey.

The Colorado Eagles are hoping they might be able to host fans before the season ends, but I can only imagine how rocking the Budweiser Events Center will be when it can have full attendance once again.

Eagles Monday Game Postponed

Monday night's game (March 8) against the Henderson Silver Knights has been postponed due to league COVID protocols.

A makeup game hasn't been announced yet. Colorado lost 4-2 and 4-1 during weekend games against Henderson.

Colorado Eagles Make A Number of Transactions

The Colorado Eagles made a number of moves on Sunday (March 7):

  • Goaltender Trent Miner and forward Sasha Mutala were released from their amateur tryout agreements. Miner is returning to the Western Hockey League's Vancouver Giants. Mutala is returning to the Western Hockey League's Tri-City Americans.
  • Forward Riley Woods was signed to a professional tryout contract. Woods has spent time with both the Eagles and ECHL's Utah Grizzlies.
  • Forward Ty Lewis was recalled from the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies. He's played four games with the Eagles this season and also made seven assists in five games with the Grizzlies.
