Recently, WalletHub released a new list of the best states to live in based on numerous key indicators of livability. The biggest factors include affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life, and safety.

Coloradans might be surprised to hear that our state didn't rank in the top 10 in 2025. In fact, Colorado didn't rank in the top 15. States like Iowa, North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Florida, and Idaho ranked higher than Colorado.

Education and health boost Colorado’s score

Colorado officially ranked as the 19th best state in the nation. What could be most surprising is that Colorado ranked 47th for safety. Where the state of Colorado really shines is in the education and health category, where we ranked third in the United States.
