
Colorado’s UPS Stores Face Uncertainty Amid Nationwide Layoffs
Major National Employer Announces Workforce Reduction
One of the biggest and most influential organizations in the nation just announced some serious rollbacks.
In late April, officials from the United Parcel Service announced that there would be a 4% workforce reduction, according to a report from CNN.
UPS & Amazon Partnership Scaled Back Dramatically
This comes months after the company announced they would be cutting back their business dealings with Amazon. Reports claim that the plan for the company is to cut back on these Amazon shipments by over 50% in the next year or so.

Amazon is UPS' largest partner and apparently accounts for approximately 12% of the company's total revenue.
UPS Announces 20,000 Layoffs in 2025

On Tuesday, April 29th UPS broke the news to the public that they would cut 20,000 jobs this year, according to reports. This came out when the package delivery giant shared their 2025 quarter one financial report.
UPS CEO Carol Tomé spoke up about this sudden change,
"...the actions we are taking to reconfigure our network and reduce costs across our business could not be timelier. The macro environment may be uncertain, but with our actions, we will emerge as an even stronger, more nimble UPS.”
Will UPS Layoffs Affect Colorado Workers?
The lay offs also come with multiple planned facility closures.
By June of this year, all of the layoffs will go into effect and seventy-three UPS facilities will also close their doors all across the country. None of the reports indicated where exactly these site closures will take place.
More UPS Closures Could Follow in 2025
In addition to the dozens of facility closures, officials for UPS confirmed that there are fifty additional locations that they will "continue to look at," according to a report from Scripps.
How Many UPS Locations Are in Colorado?
There are currently 109 UPS locations in the state, according to the company's store locator.
Where Are UPS Stores and Distribution Centers in Colorado?
Also, UPS has hundreds of Access Points, drop-boxes, multiple self-service customer centers, and some larger sorting hubs, according to reports.
There are thirteen UPS retail stores in Denver, and a massive 100,000-square-foot distribution facility in Monument.
Are Colorado UPS Facilities on the Chopping Block?
