Many people head to the mountains of Colorado at the end of fall through spring to hit the slopes on skis or on a snowboard. Soon, those Rocky Mountains will be covered in snow, the ski lifts will be working nonstop, and thousands of skiers and snowboarders will be in a winter wonderland.
Colorado Ski Season: Anticipation Builds
Winter becomes much more real when the ski resorts start to announce the opening days of the slopes in Colorado, and if you like to ski, you'd better start getting your gear ready.
First Colorado Ski Resorts to Announce 2025-26 Opening Dates
According to Denver7, numerous ski resorts have announced their opening dates for the 2025-2026 ski season. So far, five ski resorts have announced tentative opening dates, indicating when skiers can be among the first to hit the slopes this season.
- Mid-October: Keystone Resort
- November 7: Breckenridge Ski Resort
- November 14: Vail Mountain
- November 26: Beaver Creek Resort
- November 26: Crested Butte
Ski resorts included in the Ikon Pass, such as Aspen, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain Resort, Snowmass, Steamboat, and Winter Park, have yet to announce opening dates for these slopes.

However, we can guess that the dates for the Ikon Resorts will be announced fairly soon as summer fades away and winter approaches day by day.
