Enjoy a Free, Fun-Filled Day on the Loveland Trails This Month
Loveland is full of beautiful outdoor trails, and the perfect time to explore them is happening this month.
According to a press release from the City of Loveland, the City is hosting a Celebrate Loveland Trails Day from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sunset Vista Natural Area (1323 W 57th Street) on Saturday, September 10.
The celebration comes after the City won the Colorado Lottery's Starburst Award for completing the 21-mile Recreation Trail Loop.
"It was an incredible feat to finally get all those pieces and parts together," said Marilyn Hilgenberg, Open Lands and Trails Manager for the City, in the release. "This is a perfect opportunity to recognize how we are putting those Colorado Lottery dollars to use. It is really about connecting the community, health, wellness, and getting outdoors."
The free event will be full of fun-filled outdoor activities:
- 8 a.m.
- bike tune-ups, helmet safety checks, and eBike and ElliptiGO Demos (until noon)
- guided nature walk
- 8:30 a.m.
- six-mile Long View Trail bike ride
- 9 a.m.
- guided history walk
- Fun Run (until 11 a.m.)
- self-guided nature scavenger hunt, historical exhibits, and face painting (until noon)
- 9:30 a.m.
- Starburst Award presentation from the Colorado Lottery
Music and light refreshments will be on site. The event will also have trail passports.
