Bubble Soccer Hits Colorado: So What Exactly Is It?
Soccer plus bubbles equals bubble soccer. So my first reactions were, "Are we playing soccer in a bubble pit? Are there bubbles being shot at us from these high-powered bubble guns while a soccer match is taking place? Are we blowing bubbles while playing soccer?"
That last one would be really tough to do so thankfully it's not that.
Well, bubble soccer is actually none of the above, but it does look like a ton of fun nonetheless. And, you can actually play it up in Wellington.
5 on 5 adult bubble soccer leagues are forming thanks to Wellington Parks and Recreation. The game is basically just soccer except you're mostly inside of a giant inflatable bubble while you're playing.
The only part of your body that is outside of the bubble are your feet up to about mid-thigh. So yes, you'll still need to wear shin guards because getting kicked in the shin anytime, but especially when playing soccer, is just all sorts of painful.
Honestly, I've never even heard of this sport until just today but after watching people play it, I'm convinced that it would be the perfect stress reliever, and I'm perfectly fine with the 40-minute drive up to Wellington to join a league because it looks incredibly fun.

The games in Wellington will be played on Apr. 16 and the cost is only $60 per team.
