As a kid, when I first heard about blue moons, I honestly thought I would be seeing the moon turn blue at night. The older I got, the more I realized that wasn't the case. However, it would be really cool to see an actual blue moon.

Blue Moon Beer Is Finally Turning Blue

The term blue moon is often used to describe a second full moon that occurs in a month. This happens because there is a mismatch between the calendars that humans use to tell time and days, and the lunar cycle.

One beer shares the name with the phrase about having two full moons in a single month. Blue Moon. While the moon may not actually be blue during a blue moon, neither is the beer. Well, it wasn't... Until now.

Blue Moon Brewery has announced that a limited edition Blue Moon beer will be blue in celebration of the upcoming blue moon at the end of the month.

One thing Blue Moon beer and the blue moon in the night sky on May 31st have in common? Neither are actually blue... Until now.

And while the moon owes you an apology for not being blue-you won't get one. So Blue Moon is stepping in to make things right by turning its beer blue, literally, for one weekend.

Said, Blue Moon.
