It's almost summertime, and you know what that means. Or maybe you don't, which is fine. It means Starbucks is coming out with their summer menu full of refreshing drinks and creative coffees. From Unicorn cakepops to butterfly refreshers, the summer additions are definitely interesting...

But while Starbucks is good, I know of some local coffee joints that I personally believe are even better. Let's take a look at some smaller brew shops found in Northern Colorado that you should definitely try.

Dutch Brothers

With locations throughout Northern Colorado, you can grab a specialty drink in Fort Collins, Timnath, Windsor, Greeley, or Loveland.

A drink you can only find at Dutch Bros is the Golden Eagle, which is a hot drink with notes of vanilla and caramel. This drink is a fan favorite for sure.

Want something cold? I'm personally a huge fan of the Shark Attack Rebel energy drink. It's flavored with coconut and raspberry with an energy drink kick.

The Fox Den

If you're looking for a location offering a cozy vibe, look no further than The Fox Den coffee shop. Known for their house-brewed coffee and no-waste sustainability business model, this is the perfect place for a hot cup of coffee and a relaxing environment.

Bindle Coffee

This is one of my absolute favorite places to sit and catch up with friends because the location in Fort Collins is tucked away, and the set-up is beautiful with indoor/outdoor seating. Bindle is often voted "Best of Fort Collins Coffee" according to many fan-voted lists.

Starry Night

Located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins, Starry Night has been a favorite of mine since high school. Be sure to try some of their delicious pastries and cakes.

These are only a few of the many local coffee shops you can find in Northern Colorado.
