Win a championship, get paid and get paid big time. Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon was rewarded for not only being a major factor in the Avs winning their first Stanley Cup in 21 years but being a part of the process which has been painful at times and sticking with it to get the job done.

According to Hockey Night in Canada, the deal is for 8 years and $100.8 million which will make MacKinnon the highest pain player in the NHL. So now, the highest paid players in the NBA and NHL  and the second highest paid player in the NFL all play for sports teams in Denver.

MacKinnon has been a staple with the Avalanche since being the first over draft pick back in the 2013 draft and has been through some tough times which make this Stanley Cup that much sweeter and if you're wondering if he's truly worth all of the hype, even thought there are literally thousands of plays I could show you, here's one of my favorite goals scored in any hockey game ever, from this past year's Stanley Cup Playoffs--
