Flashback: See What Aspen Colorado Was Like in the 1970s
In fact, back in the 1970s, the town of Aspen was more of a ski bum town than a world-famous icon of a town.
Take a trip back to the good old days with a flashback to the quaint days of 1970s Aspen, Colorado.
What Was Aspen Colorado Like in the 1970s?
If you take a look at the history of Colorado's ski industry, you'll see that it really started to blow up all at once and has continued to do so in major resort towns like Vail, Breckenridge, and of course, Aspen.
That being said, if you take a look at what Aspen was like in the 1970s, you'll see just how much has changed.
First of all, Aspen was a lot less hoity-toity than it is today, and as you'll see below it was not uncommon to see people smoking tobacco in broad daylight and the streets of the downtown area were filled with dogs.
You'll also see a number of businesses, restaurants, and landmarks that are a mere memory today, while some like the Blue Moose and the Wheeler Opera House have gone through significant changes, but continue to be staples.
While videography was not nearly as popular back then as it is today, we are so fortunate to find some documentation of what life was like in Aspen back in the 1970s.
