Another Local Colorado Food Favorite Closes After 15 Years
Sadly, Colorado lost another local favorite in 2023. This small family-owned and operated business was a sweet snack go-to for 15 years, and now we say goodbye.
Another Local Colorado Favorite Has Closed
So far in 2023, we've had to say goodbye to a lot of mainstays across our state. Stores like TJ Maxx on the famous 16th Street Mall in Denver after 30 years. The 16th Street Mall McDonald's also closed after 40 years. Four different Big Lots stores in Colorado, including the Fort Collins Location. Even a popular local Colorado Brewery announced this week that it's locking up shop at the beginning of February after 15 years. It just feels like one after another, we're losing so many of our favorite places. Sadly, another very popular local food favorite has announced its closure this week as well.
Colorado's Butter Cream Cupcakery Closed For Good after 15 Years
While 2023 started with so much promise for this family-owned and operated business in Fort Collins, things changed quickly as Northern Colorado's Butter Cream Cupcakery announced that it has closed its doors for good. In a message on their social media accounts, they said...
A post I’ve been dreading to write…
It is with the heaviest heart that we announce the closing of our family bakery. Due to unfortunate and out of our control circumstances we feel like that this is our best and only option. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement.

The local favorite Butter Cream Cupcakery was a desert mainstay in Northern Colorado for almost as long as I've been up here and we're extremely sad to see it go. Their last day in business was this past Sunday, January, 15th. As a part of the Northern Colorado community, we'd like to thank the Montoya family for helping create so many amazing memories and fun times over the years. Your craft was top notch and we're going to miss your sweet treats, badly. Cheers to whatever may be next.
