Years ago, Brian published a story about Leon Coffee and how he was hospitalized with meningitis.  Leon got a TON of support from K99 listeners-- and prayer, too.

Leon is a celebrity in the rodeo world, having been a part of rodeos for 40+ years!  With The Greeley Stampede all finished up but Cheyenne Frontier Days still in full swing, we wanted to check in on Leon and see how he's doing.

Leon's job is stressful-- a bullfighter is known as someone who distracts a bull when the rider gets bucked off and needs to run to safety-- and with the hospital scare in 2012, we're sure that that made it even harder for the legend.  However, he was released from the hospital in 2012 after a vast improvement and is now continuing his career.

Leon recently did an interview with the Houston Chronicle in March of this year discussing his long career. He also discussed how much rodeo has changed over the years, but he remains the "barrelman" for the Houston Rodeo in Texas.

Leon also is involved in his local community, including a recent event in May where he participated in a fundraising event raising money for scholarships for kids that want to pursue a career as a firefighter in Marble Falls, Texas.

To see more about what Leon does, check out this video below.  We're glad Leon is doing all right-- the prayers worked!
