People out there love their college sports teams, drink "pop" instead of soda, and can absolutely demolish some cheese curds!

My First Greeley Stampede Experience

This was my very first Greeley Stampede, so I had no clue what to expect.

Luckily, I was able to ease myself in to the whole thing by serving up some drinks at the Breckenridge Craft Bar.

And by "serving" I actually mean wiping down the bar top to look busy.

I didn't want to mess with anyone's cold beer!

The Food Truck You Need to Try in Colorado

While I was wiping down the tabletops, I started chatting up these two people who were nursing their drinks at the bar.

We were laughing, having a good time, and then we got talking about what their plans were for the rest of the day at the Stampede.

Turns out they both worked for a food truck company called Cwilly's that was going to be stationed under the north grandstands during all of the concerts, rodeos, and other events in the arena.

Over the course of the next week and a half they started to get a whole lot of love. Every year, the Stampede recognizes some of the fantastic food vendors at their event with the Food Court Awards.

The Cheese Curds That Won Me Over

After hearing this news, I knew I had to go and check them out! The owner mentioned to me something about green chile cheese curds...yummy!

I dropped by their truck and bought myself some curds on Saturday, July 5th right before Parker McCollum took to the stage.

By the time I was able to get to the truck and place an order, the green chile curds were gone. While I was a bit bummed about that I still decided to try Cwilly's out!

I ordered the standard cheese curds...and OH MY GOODNESS they were AMAZING!

The cheese was perfect and the breading took it to the next level! Each order comes with a bit of ranch for dipping, so that took me back to my time in the Midwest!

My mouth was watering from the moment the warm paper food tray was placed into my eager hands.

Cwilly's doesn't just serve curds, they also offer a variety of breakfast burritos and smash burgers!

The owner of this food company is a Fort Collins native, but currently operates out of Wiggins, Colorado.
