Lately, Colorado roads have been infested with accidents involving wildlife. Over the past few weeks, there have been collisions with moose, a mountain lion and now a bear on I-25.

The accident happened over the weekend on I-25 near Colorado Springs where thankfully both people that were on the motorcycle during impact, outside of getting banged up are expected to be ok, the bear however, not so much.

The bear was killed on the scene as Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials arrived on the scene to take care of the bear carcass while the 3 lanes of the freeway were closed.

As a friendly reminder and one that could save your life, always be aware of your surroundings and pay extra close attention while driving whether it be in the mountains or on the freeway.

Wildlife is out and about and many of the animals that were dormant or hibernating during the winter months are out and about exploring and looking for food.

In addition it's also mating season for black bears so they're going to be extra active and frisky.

Let's face it, we live with all sorts of wildlife, all kinds and all different species, here are some safety tips to keep in mind whether you're on foot or in a vehicle.
