YMCA of The Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch – Not Just a Winter Playground

My wife and I attended the wedding of a friend and co-worker over the weekend at YMCA of the Rockies-Snow Mountain Ranch. It’s just about 15 miles west of Winter Park Ski Resort. Most people think of it as a winter wonderland, but there is so much to do in the summer as well?
Snow Mountain Ranch is more than 5,000 acres, the ranch’s on-site summer activities include horseback riding, hiking, biking, canoeing, a zip line and a variety of family programs, plus easy access to nearby fishing, boating and rafting.
According to the YMCA of the Rockie website:
Snow Mountain Ranch also offers a variety of affordable accommodations, including lodge rooms, family cabins and reunion cabins with fireplaces, campgrounds (tent and RV) and yurts.

To get to Snow Mounain Ranch you take I-70 west of Denver to Highway 40. Take Highway 40 over Berthoud Pass and go 15 miles west of Winter Park.
