Will Greeley Ever Give In To Common Sense? [POLL]

It took Greeley almost 30 years after prohibition to legalize the sale of alcohol so don't hold your breath on them legalizing legal marijuana anytime soon.

It seems that the biggest hangup for the City of Greeley is,

We're legalizing marijuana today, OK? What's the next drug we're going to legalize. There's so much we don't know about the stronger pot available out there today. We don't know what effect it's going to have on youngsters that get a hold of it.

I am still of the opinion that nothing can compare to the dangers of alcohol including the 'new marijuana of today.'   It blows my mind that cities like Greeley are willing to let millions of dollars go through their hands because they don't like marijuana, personally.  But these same folks have no issue driving while intoxicated, which is illegal. We don't care about how many lives are lost due to alcohol (and nicotine) or how many lives are destroyed but by golly, we'll keep the pot off the streets.

Wow...big win there!  The fact that the Federal government hasn't already changed the classification for Marijuana is embarrassing really.  Same class of drug as heroin and cocaine?  No wonder so many think it's such an evil drug. What's even sadder is that so many people just flat refuse to do their own homework.  It just boils down to being extremely lazy, gullible, or both in my opinion.

In the meantime, all the other cities, including Garden City, will profit like there's no tomorrow.  Weld county is the poorest county in the state and a city like Greeley, especially, is in no place to look a gift horse in the mouth.  Here is a huge chance for Greeley to take advantage of a modern day lottery. Pueblo County has only 2 recreational pot shops and turned in $56,000 in tax money, in the first month!

It boils down to this:  If you are so willing to continue to ignore how many people and lives are lost and ruined because of alcohol and cigarettes why in the world would you care about people smoking pot when it has been proven over and over it's nowhere near as dangerous as the two drugs I just mentioned and in fact has been proven to have medicinal value.  I'm dumbfounded...or just dumb.
