What is the Fort Collins Connection to Tim McGraw?

If you were at either of the two Red Rocks shows that Tim McGraw put on this September, you not only saw a fantastic night of Country music but you also said…"What?  That’s awesome!"

That is, if you are from Fort Collins!

A sold-out show at Red Rocks is a big deal, even to Country superstar Tim McGraw.  His two shows on September 9 and 10 were his first shows at the iconic venue, and they were awesome!  All his big hits, a few new songs, a great encore.

But something very cool also went along with these shows.

As Tim was doing the introductions of the bands-- there it was:

On drums! From Fort Collins, Colorado……”

The crowd went pretty nuts, especially those of us who were there FROM the Fort Collins area!

But with all the crowd noise, I was unable to get the guy’s name.

I did some research, and all I could find is that Billy Mason USED to be the drummer. He was one of the disbanded/fired Dancehall Doctors.

So, long story short… the guy who’s playing drums for Tim McGraw is from Fort Collins!

How cool, right?
