I have one last chance to throw this out there:  If you don't have major plans for Saturday afternoon then you should really consider spending 2-3 hours welcoming Dan and Michelle Benavidez into Loveland.  After all, their son died protecting our freedom and it would be a very respectful thing to do as they walk, yes walk almost 1100 miles to Illinois to the Middle East Memorial Conflicts Wall to honor their son and other sons have been KIA protecting our sacred Constitution!

American Military Family is hosting a Tribute to our Troops Rally Saturday the 21st from Noon-4 p.m..

The event starts with a gathering at noon at the Mexican Inn (South Loveland across from Sonic on Hwy 287}) to welcome and show support for Dan & Michelle Benavidez, who lost their son in the Middle East Conflict in 2008.

If you ride a motorcycle you are invited to be a part of the escort for Dan and Michelle as they too are riders.  I have secured some American Iron for them to ride should they choose to do so. Please be at the Mexican Inn no later than 11:30am.

They will be entering Loveland from Highway 287 south on their journey to Illinois to visit the Middle East Conflict Memorial Wall and see their son’s name inscribed on it.

After they arrive at the Mexican Inn, they will be provided a motorcycle ride to the Promenade Shops for the rally.

The Rally is set to take place on the plaza area near the Bent Fork Restaurant. Numerous veteran organizations, businesses, and non-profits will have information booths set up. After the event, Dan and Michelle will be given a ride back to Highway 287 north and continue their walking journey from there.

Officers on duty during this event are asked to provide extra patrols in the area of Mexican Inn (around noon) and the Promenade Shops (1-4 p.m.), time permitting.

The event is open to the public.  If you have a chance, please stop by and show your support for military families and those serving in the Armed Forces.
