Tree Falls at Greeley Stampede

Strong wind gusts broke off a large portion of a cottonwood tree earlier this week at the Greeley Stampede. I’ve probably sat in that spot a hundred times over the past 25 years. I am sure grateful nobody was hurt when the massive branch fell to the ground.
The giant piece of the tree fell on a group of picnic tables in the foot court in Island Grove Park in Greeley at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to an article in the Greeley Tribune:
The branch that fell was 2 feet in diameter and 40-50 feet long.
Thankfully nobody was injured.
