Rodney Atkins is best known for his #1 hits: "Watching You", "Cleaning This Gun", "These Are My People", "If You're Going Through Hell", and "It's America"!  A couple years ago we got to know Rodney on a whole different level.  He appeared on our Annual 28 Hours of Hope and told a story that brought Brian and me...and thousands of our listeners to tears.  It was a story about the brutality his father endured when he was a child.  We saw the human side of big country star...and we liked it.  I had a chance to meet Rodney soon after the interview when he was the opening act for Martina McBride.  I just wanted to say thank you for sharing his story with our listeners during the 28 Hours. He was very gracious. He was real!  He told me it was the 1st time he had ever shared the story about what his father had gone through in an interview.  I was honored.
