Todd Harding’s Christmas Letter 2013
This was a very big year for Todd. For starters, in May he and his radio partner Brian celebrated their 25th Anniversary doing the morning show on K99. The radio station threw a big party at the Sundance Saloon. Nashville stars Craig Campbell, Rachel Farley, Maggie Rose, and Tyler Farr played the event. About 600 of our closest friends were there.
Every year Brian & Todd stay on the radio 28 hours in a row during the 28 Hours of Hope to raise money to fight child abuse. They had over 50 guests from Nashville call in this year and raised over 75,000 for 3 local charities. Todd hosted over 30 events for charities during the year, including the United Way auction pictured below.
One of Todd’s main jobs is blogging for the website. Jenny became the subject of many of those blogs. Including “How Many Shoes Does Todd’s Wife Have?” and “Knitting & Camping”!
We got to go Camping a couple times this year. The first was with Jenny’s brother’s family and her parents at Flatiron Reservoir. Right after that we camped by ourselves at Dowdy Lake.
Jenny’s Mom & Dad Barney & Bev are celebrating their 50th anniversary. We had a party in her parents back yard for all of their friends. We were glad her brother could fly out too.
Every year the Greeley Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days are a big part of our lives. We got to meet some really cool people like Trace Adkins in Greeley (Dude has huge guns!) and Jason Aldean in Cheyenne.
This year we visited Todd’s family in North Carolina. We were so grateful that both Mom and Dad were healthy for this trip. One of the highlights was a couple days at Carolina Beach. We also spent a few days at Avin & Sheri’s farm. We ate at a Japanese steakhouse one night.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the year for Todd was winning his 2nd CMA Award. Brian, Todd, and Susan were named Small Market Personalities of the Year by the Country Music Association. We sat in the 5th row at the awards show behind the Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry and in front of Rascal Flatts. Todd even showed up on TV a couple times.
We finished the year by taking a cruise to the Caribbean to celebrate Jenny’s parents 50th Anniversary. Jenny’s brother, his wife Laura, and daughter Amelia came too. We visited St Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, St Maarten, and San Juan Puerto Rico.
