‘Titanic 3-D’ Sailing Into Theaters April 6, 2012

If the original ‘Titanic’ wasn’t epic enough already, Paramount announced Thursday that it will re-release the Oscar-winning drama on April 6, 2012 … in 3-D.
In a statement, the film’s director, James Cameron, said, “There’s a whole generation that’s never seen ‘Titanic’ as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be ‘Titanic’ as you’ve never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike.”
The film’s re-release will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, which went down on April 15, 1912. 2012 also marks the 100-year anniversary of Paramount Pictures.
Released in December 1997, ‘Titanic’ went on to win a record-setting 11 Oscars and grossed over $1 billion, worldwide.
Sound off: Will you see ‘Titanic’ in 3-D?
