Three people were arrested after a crime spree across Longmont, Erie, Lafayette, and Boulder County. They shot out windows in moving and parked vehicles in a stolen minivan and led law enforcement on several pursuits. The pursuits earlier in the day were stopped because of safety concerns for other drivers on the road.

About 8:30 last night, September 22, 2016, a citizen reported seeing the stolen Town and Country minivan from the day's crime spree at Walmart at Hwy 287 in Lafayette. Lafayette Police found the vehicle parked and unoccupied and put "stop sticks” under its tires then waited for the driver to return.

The driver and two passengers returned to the car and drove out of the parking lot. The "stop sticks" flattened the vehicle's tires and the driver rammed and disabled one Lafayette police vehicle. Others attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, which continued to ram one of the police cars. The suspect hit one police vehicle 5 times during the one-mile pursuit before the officer was able to push the suspect vehicle into a curb. The three occupants ran from the car.

All three were taken into custody. A Taser was used on one when he failed to comply with directions. The three people arrested include one adult male, a juvenile female and a third male whose age has not been determined.
