The Hardest Thing I Had to Do This Christmas – Brian’s Blog

This was a joyous Christmas for me. It was my first Christmas with 3 grandchildren and all of them together with me. It was such a blessing to see them open their gifts and just enjoy being cousins. I had both of my kids and all of my grand kids in the same place and it was my best Christmas yet....except for one thing.

I am a Minnesota Viking fanatic and every Christmas you can count on their being a few purple items under the tree. This year we got our granddaughter Kirzi her first Viking cheerleader outfit. My son got a Viking golf shirt, I got a Viking shirt, in fact everyone except my daughter got a Viking gift. This is where the problem comes in.

I said this was the best Christmas ever but was also one of the toughest for me too and here is why. My daughter is a Raider fan. I tried to raise her right and love the purple and gold and the blue and orange but she, for some reason only God knows, loves the Raiders. When we were ordering the families Viking gifts it came time to order for my daughter. She has always wanted Raider winter boots. I wanted to buy her Viking boots but decided I would bite the bullet and get her what she had always wanted. She loves her Raider boots and I love seeing her happy but I can tell you it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I love you Vanessa but you are pushing it. Enjoy the boots baby girl.
